Sara Y.
I’m Sara (spelled without an “h”) and I am thankful to call West Lafayette my second home. Before we get started, I must warn you-- I am addicted to sports, shopping, and telling stories. In fact, I made it to every football and men’s basketball home game during my freshman year, and I am a recruiting ambassador for the football team. I’m sure I’ll find some shopping to do on and off campus, and I’m really excited to share the stories of my adventures as a Boilermaker with you. Purdue was always one of my top choices for college, but the minute I stepped into Mackey Arena for my first Purdue basketball game, it really felt like home. After a semester at school, I changed my major to one that would give me many options in a future career. It’s a relatively small program, which has helped the transition from a small high school of 400 to Purdue! After graduating, I hope to work in event planning for major sports tournaments, and eventually start a non-profit organization that places professional and college athletes in inner city schools as mentors. Before I graduate, though, I hope to run my first marathon, study abroad, and see a Purdue sports team (or two!) bring home a national championship. I have a year of great memories chronicled on this blog, and I can’t wait to see what happens in my next years as a Boilermaker.

Diamox Side Effects
If you’ll remember, I posted last year about the acronyms that seem to be all over campus – diamox side effects. Now that I’m the Director of Media Relations for Purdue Student Government, I have a whole new list.
I won’t bore you with a million new ones (unless you want me to, of course), but I do want to give a bit of a shout-out to PSG (Purdue Student Government).I have to spend three hours a week with these kids (at the very least), so it’s a good thing that I am absolutely crazy about the group of individuals I was blessed to work with this year; diamox side effects. Diamox side effects: it’s awesome to be surrounded by super smart, super involved people who have an appreciation for bright colors and the retro PSG clothes that were found in a closet. If you ever have a few free minutes — whether you’re a student diamox side effects, a parent, or a former Boiler — stop in, say hi, and let us know what’s on your mind.
PSG is taking up a lot of my time — which is totally a good thing, but not as great for the blogging industry. Diamox side effects: my post-its aren’t too terribly exciting this week, either.I’m spending a lot of time trying to get ahead so I’m not rushing to get stuff done later next week diamox side effects, when I have a few of my first exams. Diamox side effects: hip hip hooray, exams. Diamox side effects: can’t you hear the excitement in my voice?
Speaking of next week, it kind of begins the Purdue career fair season. Diamox side effects: i’m not sure how well other universities are at getting employers on campus, but Purdue seems to do a really good job.Last year diamox side effects, I wasn’t so interested, but I think I’m going to go check a few career fairs out this year for no other reason than to dress up.If I happen to find an internship while I’m there, that would be awesome, too.:) Thankfully, my major is pretty broad, so I am going to check out a couple different college’s fairs – diamox side effects.Someone has to want me, right?! Yes. Diamox side effects: let’s hope so.
I need to go clean my room and continue to watch YouTube videos of pandas and puppies.Oh diamox side effects, college life…

Valtrex Cheap
I just realized that I haven’t posted pictures of my room for you guys!
It’s quite a happy little home, and a few things have changed since I took these pictures, but my room is messy so I’m not taking new ones – valtrex cheap.:) When writing this, I became super technologically challenged, so instead of posting two photo galleries, all of the pictures I want to share are at the bottom of the post.
Also, I met the Green Power Ranger this week.If you will remember valtrex cheap, I met the Red Power Ranger last year.If I can get all of them by the time I graduate valtrex cheap, I will be one happy girl.
Other than that, life has been hectic! Student government is keeping me busy, and football ambassador stuff began last night. It was great to be back in the practice facility with all of the girls. In case you were wondering, there are 47 hours until kickoff on Saturday – valtrex cheap.WOOHOO! I’m so thankful college football has returned to my life. Valtrex cheap: i tell you what, absence really does make the heart grow fonder.

Generic Valtrex
Last year at this time, I was apparently so caught up in being on campus that I didn’t realize how ridiculous the first week of classes can be.Everywhere you go this week, it’s crazy – generic valtrex. The bookstore is crazy, the dining halls are crazy, and everyone actually going to class makes the walk to anywhere crazy; generic valtrex.I’m hoping that I things will settle down next week generic valtrex, but if they don’t…well, I will be doing a whole lot of yoga.
My classes this semester are going to be fantastic.I may be in college for six years because I just dropped one class (I was -not- paying $277 for the books.I just refused), but the other ones that I am in are looking pretty promising; generic valtrex. Generic valtrex: they’re all interesting and applicable and taught by instructors that seem to: A) know what they’re doing and B) enjoy it.That means a lot because, honestly, I’ve had some that make it seem like it’s a chore. Generic valtrex: oh well. All in all, it’s looking to be a pretty great semester.
I’ll be sure to post pictures of my room later, because it’s the most precious little oasis that I could ever ask for. Make sure to enjoy this beautiful weather.Snow will be here before we know it; generic valtrex.Ugh, snow; generic valtrex.:)

Valtrex
Valtrex: i’m finally back in West Lafayette!
It was a bittersweet drive yesterday, because I had a great summer, but it feels so good to be settled into my room with a to-do list a mile long. Most of all, I’m glad to be back to blogging.Everyone has told me that your sophomore year is better than your freshman year of college – valtrex. My freshman year was pretty good valtrex, so I am anxious to see what this year holds.
This summer, I was blessed with the opportunity to intern for the College of Agriculture. Valtrex: you may remember that I changed my major toward the end of the second semester, but the internship was focused on event planning, which is something I’m still hoping to incorporate into my future career.I spent ten or so days at the Indiana State Fair valtrex, overseeing volunteers and making sure that the Purdue exhibits ran smoothly. Incoming freshman, you CAN get an internship! It was a great first experience to get me prepared for a bigger internship next summer.
When I wasn’t writing press releases or exhibit descriptions for Purdue, I managed to squeak in a four-day vacation to New York City with three of my friends. It was thrown together in about 10 days, and I couldn’t have asked for a better way to end my summer – valtrex.I fell in love with NYC — it’s on my list of dream internship cities!
Now, it’s time to get to work; valtrex. Valtrex: i forgot how hectic the first week or two of the year can be.I have a lot of errands to run (in my car that is finally on campus) and a lot of money to spend on books and Easy Mac and valtrex, eventually, more stuff for my room.I’m living in First Street Towers this year, the newest residence halls on campus; valtrex.I didn’t realize how much room I would have in a single room, so my two carloads full of stuff seems pretty small in here! The room decorating process is going to be a lengthy one; valtrex.I’ll be sure to keep you guys updated.
I must go buy the right Ethernet cord for my computer (of course the one that was on sale wouldn’t be the right kind!) and get my scheduled planned out for the week. Get ready guys – it’s going to be a great year!

Stress Immune System
I’m home, and it feels super weird.
Yesterday, I packed most of my things and headed out of West Lafayette for the next-to-last time – stress immune system. Stress immune system: i have to go back next week to take a final, but my semester is over for the most part. I did an end-of-the-semester recap in December, and I thought I’d share some of the highlights of the last four months.
–A surprise birthday party that lasted 15 minutes
–Meeting Gene Keady and Coach Hope
–Watching Mr. Stress immune system: brees win the Super Bowl
–Becoming a Boiler Gold Ambassador & standing on the field at Ross-Ade
Oh, and I already miss my roommate & our adventures.
I honestly can’t believe that my freshman year of college is over, but I could not be more thankful for the arrival of summer. Between interning for Purdue at the Indiana State Fair & helping with the press room at the Indiana FFA State Convention, I’m going to be a busy girl. Thankfully, I had a year at Purdue that made me grow up, slow down, and realize that I am extremely blessed to call West Lafayette “home.”

Yohimbe Benefits
This is probably my next-to-last blog, and I want to address one issue I never really talked about this year — roommates.I’ve mentioned the mysterious “Roomie” a few times, and maybe I called her by her real name, but let me tell you a little about us and our year together.
Elli and I found each other on Facebook – yohimbe benefits. Yohimbe benefits: she found me, actually.Neither of us wanted to go completely random on roommates but we didn’t want to live with anyone we knew, either.I searched for the Facebook message that started it all, but couldn’t find them — I remember we filled out surveys about our favorite music & biggest pet peeves – yohimbe benefits. Yohimbe benefits: finally, we both crossed our fingers & hoped the other could put up with us for a year.
Right before I left for school, I was at my best friend’s house for a cookout. His family has been like a second family to me, and his mom had her college roommate over to visit for the weekend.I remember seeing them laughing and catching up and thinking, “I hope my roommate and I are like that…” After this year, I’m pretty sure that will be us in 30 years.
There have been some days when I’m sure we’d like to secretly throw stuff at each other – yohimbe benefits. Yohimbe benefits: i’m sure I drive her insane when I dry my hair while she’s trying to watch Lost, and sometimes I consider throwing her alarm clock out the window (she knows that – no surprise haha). But yohimbe benefits, I am blessed beyond words to have had such an awesome roommate this year. She’s put up with my morning grumpiness & Christmas music in October, and she’s willingly went on wild adventures to Pacers games in hurricanes & concerts that ended up in sobriety checkpoints. We’ve made late-night Wal-Mart runs & eaten WAY too many Insomnia cookies for our own good…but she’s put up with me & my occasional high-maintenance tendencies & I’ve listened to her narrate your every move at least twice a week yohimbe benefits, every week.HAHA (I’m not kidding, folks, she thinks outloud & I adore her for it).And somehow, we’re still on speaking terms today.
A year ago, I never would have imagined that living with someone else could have went so flawlessly; yohimbe benefits. Yohimbe benefits: and even though we’re total opposites in so many ways, we’ve managed to somehow defy the odds of roommate-matching & become the best of friends.I can only hope that next year’s freshmen are as lucky as I was…

Carb Blocker
Tonight carb blocker, I drug Roomie (whose real name is Elli, by the way) on an adventure to my favorite coffee shop on campus.A “band” who we later learned was just a guy and his guitar was performing, and I had a couple of his songs and really liked him — so I took her with me. It turned out to be one of the best evenings in a while.
There were probably 30 people there carb blocker, but Greyhouse isn’t a real big place, so it was pretty full. Before the show started, Five Times August (whose real name is Brad) was sitting at the table behind us. I had to get my picture with him, of course, and afterward we had another photo op with him – carb blocker. Carb blocker: the highlight of the evening went a little like this.
Brad: “…and we were in Austin, Texas.”
Elli: “YES! AUSTIN! ….you can’t take me out in public.”
Brad: “I take it you know Austin?”
Or something to that effect.Anyway, it was the most priceless celebration of being a Texan that I’ve ever seen and I will always cherish it.:)
The show itself was great — he was an awesome performer and had a lot of really good songs. If you haven’t heard him carb blocker, check him out at fivetimesaugust.com. Carb blocker: it’s Grand Prix week, though, so on the way home we saw flashing lights.I had no idea what it was — it was a good thing El was driving; carb blocker. She said, “look, a sobriety checkpoint”…and we were the lucky gals to get stopped – carb blocker. The cop was really nice, Elli got a sunglasses holder thing for being a responsible driver, and I got the paper on drunk driving awareness. Carb blocker: after a lovely night of frozen hot chocolate, it felt good for being responsible members of society…and to successfully pass through our very first sobriety checkpoint while laughing hysterically.
Another successful evening in the life of Sara & Elli.My homework is turned in (minus tomorrow’s worksheet), my final has been taken (yes, two weeks prior to finals week), and I am on a steady decline into summer – carb blocker.HOORAY!!!!!!!!

Fat Blocker
We’re entering into “the week before dead week,” which is known as two things in Boilermaker Country.First, Grand Prix week.To tell you the truth, I haven’t experienced the fiascoes of Grand Prix yet to tell you exactly what it consists of, but I have heard that Breakfast Club returns & there are go-karts…and it’s quite the Purdue tradition; fat blocker.I guess I’ll be able to tell you more in a few weeks.
It also means it’s Alm0st-Dead-Week…the week where you have two exams, a project, two papers, and no motivation; fat blocker. But who’s counting? I just wrapped up my big paper of the semester, thank goodness; fat blocker. I have a project in English that’s due on Friday and two exams this week (one’s a final). Looks like I’ll have no life yet again – fat blocker.I’m going into my third week of being Facebook-free; fat blocker. Breaking the habit of automatically opening up a tab in Google Chrome to go to facebook.com was tough fat blocker, but I am somehow becoming more productive.Woohoooo!
Anyway, just pray I survive.
In other news, I changed my major! I am now an Organizational Leadership & Supervision major with a concentration in Sports Management – fat blocker.Ha! How’s that for a mouthful? I love the program, and it’s a small department, which is really nice. Fat blocker: my old department had two advisors who share an office, OLS has two advisors who are across the hall from each other. I was nervous that I would change my major and become a number, but I was glad to find out that this program was just as close as my old one. I’m taking a few classes over the summer, interning for Purdue, and doing some football recruiting stuff for the ambassador program.Oh goodness gracious!
My mom saved the week this week; fat blocker. My hair straightener died fat blocker, and in the life of any college girl, that’s similar to losing your car keys or getting lost in Chicago. Fat blocker: i sent her a text message and, the next day, I had a package in the mail with a brand new straightener. The Spring Football Game was this weekend — my first recruiting opportunity — and I refused to have “bad hair” for it!
Thanks, Mom!
That’s a quick recap of my all-too-busy life; fat blocker.Keep your fingers crossed for me this week!

Best Hangover Remedy
I like to think of myself as a pretty organized person.Sure, my desk is messy and sometimes you have to shuffle through some stuff to get to what you need, but I’ve got a system.Part of this system includes my Sunday night post-it date; best hangover remedy. I sit down before the week begins and make a post-it for everything I need to do and everywhere I need to be this week. I can’t remember the last time I’ve had a lot of post-its, but today…today I have THIRTEEN staring back at me; best hangover remedy.I’m pretty excited about most of them, so here’s a recap of a few.
1) Spring Game Saturday – Saturday is the football spring game, and the first day I get to be a recruiting ambassador. I’m ridiculously excited. Before that, though, I have a meeting for ambassadors on Thursday – best hangover remedy. There’s two post-its.
2) Meetings.Oh goodness gracious, I’m going to be sick of meeting with people by the end of this week! Just kidding, I doubt that will ever happen – best hangover remedy. I meet with my new and old advisors this week. Best hangover remedy: i’m in the process of changing my major and have to meet with both of them to get everything straightened out. Best hangover remedy: three meetings, three more post-its.
3) Homework. It’s the end of the semester (woohooo!), which means that I’ll be eating a lot of ramen at my desk.:) I’ve got a big project due in two weeks, another huge paper due in a week, and my usual worksheets that are due on Friday; best hangover remedy.I just hope I get the productivity bug this week! Seven post-its there.
And best hangover remedy, I have another half-marathon staring me in the face so I’ve got a few post-its reminding me to RUN so I make it to the finish line
If I survive this week, I’ll be sure to let you know!

Professional Cialis
Earlier this week, my roommate said that she didn’t want to be boring – professional cialis. Professional cialis: today, we were anything but boring.
I win a lot of random stuff. Books, Barry Manilow CD’s (no joke), gift certificates to restaurants that closed down two years ago; professional cialis. Professional cialis: this week, I won two tickets to the Pacers game because I was one of the first 500 people to “follow” the Pacers mascot, Boomer, on Twitter. They sent us a link, we sent them our email, they sent us tickets, we went to the game.It was that simple! I asked my roommate to go and she agreed — I’m slowly but surely turning her into a semi-sports fanatic like myself.
Today was kind of gloomy, but nothing that we (ok, she) couldn’t handle. I was just along for the ride & the tickets – professional cialis. The ride there wasn’t bad at all, we made it with plenty of time & not a single “where in the world are we?” thanks to her trusty GPS; professional cialis. The game was super fun.Granted professional cialis, there weren’t a whole lot of people there, but it ended up being a pretty close game & our seats were awesome, so I can’t complain one bit. Little did we know how much fun we would have on our way home…
We left between the third and fourth quarters just to save some time; professional cialis. We walked outside, decided to go back and get Starbucks, and once we walked back out it was starting to rain pretty hard. Professional cialis: i had left my big trusty umbrella that Mom got me for Christmas in the car (of course!), and took my flimsy half-broken (but quite easy to carry) umbrella instead.Bad choice, first of all – professional cialis. Professional cialis: when we got back to the car, we were half-drenched & laughing hysterically. Professional cialis: i think Elli has finally learned that everywhere is an adventure with me, basically. When we pulled out of the parking garage professional cialis, it was nothing short of a tsunami. I mean, it was literally raining sideways.Super! Just fantastic. Professional cialis: what great weather to drive home in, right? No.Not so much.
Anyway professional cialis, Elli was a trooper.Granted professional cialis, we couldn’t see the lanes to get onto I-65 and we both knew that the other knew that it was pretty bad weather, but once we got onto the highway & got out of Indy traffic, the rain let up and it was a pretty painless trip home. Professional cialis: the process of getting from the game to the interstate was kind of…slow. And maybe a little scary…and really rainy…but kind of slow. Professional cialis: earlier in the night, we were talking about the moments when we’ll just kind of stop and say, “wow, I’m actually at college.” They happen on random days at random times, and today was one of them. We were on our own – professional cialis. Professional cialis: we got to Indianapolis on our own, we found a place to park on our own, and we survived driving through a hurricane rainstorm on the interstate on our own. Sure, college is about going to class and doing homework and walking three blocks to basketball games, but nights like tonight are what we’ll remember twenty years from now — the night that made us grow up; professional cialis.(But Mom and Dad, if you’re reading this, I’m still not grown up enough to quit asking you for money!)
